Our Commitment

We are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We strive to adhere to the UK government's guidelines on accessibility, including those set out in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

Our Approach

  • Semantic HTML: We use semantic HTML5 markup to structure our content, making it more accessible to screen readers and other assistive technologies.
  • Keyboard Navigation: Our website can be navigated using a keyboard alone, without the need for a mouse, ensuring accessibility for users who may have mobility impairments.
  • Alt Text for Images: All images on our website are accompanied by descriptive alternative text, providing context for users who cannot see them.
  • Accessible Forms: Forms on our website are designed to be accessible to screen readers, with properly labelled form fields and error messages.
  • Colour Contrast: We ensure that there is sufficient colour contrast between text and background elements, making content easier to read for users with low vision.
  • Resizable Text: Users can adjust the text size on our website without loss of content or functionality, catering to individuals with visual impairments.

Feedback

We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our website. If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us at HolidayActivityHub@telford.gov.uk. Your feedback will help us to make further enhancements to ensure that our website is accessible to all users.

Accessibility Standards

Our website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and we are actively working to adhere to them.

Third-Party Content

While we strive to ensure the accessibility of all content on our website, we may occasionally link to third-party content or embed third-party applications that are not fully accessible. We cannot control or remedy accessibility barriers on these third-party sites but will endeavour to provide accessible alternatives wherever possible.
